Scans of Primary Pidcock Documents

There are a number of Genealogical Societies whose membership is open to descendants who can proved their lineage. While applicants must prove their lineage with copies of primary source documents, our "History of the Pidcock Family and Association", originally compiled in 1958 and revised in 1992 provides a roadmap of descent from Jonathan Pidcock (011) 1729-1812.

The links below, display scans of primary material for deceased ancestors, that have been collected by your cousins and are provided here for your use in documenting your ancestry.

From History of the Pidcock Family and Association:

"When America declared its independence from Great Britain in l776 and war broke out, Jonathan and his son Charles joined the local militia.  Though Jonathan was physically unfit for active service due to his age, he did make himself useful looking after the quartering of troops and caring for the sick and wounded.

According to Lequear, Jonathan's other sons also served in the Revolution under Captain John Phillips, Third Regiment, Hunterdon  County Militia, New Jersey."

They are also listed as members of the  militia in the Military Census of New Jersey of l793.
