Gary Pitcock and John Pidcock conceived the idea of the DNA study at the 2001 family reunion. Y Chromosome DNA Analysis revealed that they are related genetically and that the family goes back to the 16th century in Derbyshire, England. Geoffrey Wilson is John's 4th cousin through the Pidcock line.
